Ecotrope Attends the Feast

Something I had not counted on at The Forager’s Feast these past 2 weekends was the pleasure of meeting so many delightful Portlanders.  True, I do get to chat and cook for lots of shoppers at the Farmer’s Market, but the majority of my fine dining kitchen experience has been “behind the scenes”.  How refreshing it was to be part of an Open Kitchen event…it was just that.

One very interesting diner I had the opportunity to meet was Cassandra Profita.  Cassandra, a journalist blogger, features news and insight on pressing environmental issues of the Pacific Northwest on the Oregon Public Broadcasting blog Ecotrope.  Thank you, Cassandra, for this wonderful slideshow of the Feast!

About Kathryn LaSusa Yeomans

By offering Sage Culinary Advice, The Farmer's Feast assists Farmers' Market shoppers in making the most of their purchases, and helps vendors realize the culinary possibilities of their products. We create culinary education programs at Farmers' Markets. Through food preparation and cooking demonstrations, recipes focusing on technique, samples, stories and free advice, we're encouraging people to cook more often, from scratch, with market-fresh ingredients. Our goal? To cultivate domestic culinary arts. Once you've tasted the Farmer's Feast - glistening local produce, pastured meats, artisan cheese, wild seafood, rich nuts, grains and legumes - and see how easy cooking this bounty can be, you'll be hungry for fresh.
